Post Match interview: Coach Nkrumah reveals magic behind 2-1 victory over Sasaamo Panin

On Sunday, Mahala Football Academy hosted Sasaamo Panin at the Wesco Park in their 2022-23 Ashanti Regional Division Two League match day two encounter.

Despite a difficult start and an unconvincing first half performance, Mahala Football Academy stood on their grounds to avoid sharing spoils in their first home game.

With game ending goalless in the first session, much was needed to be done from the bench.

In so doing, gaffer Emmanuel Nkrumah made two key substitutions to ensure a win comes their path. Full time, scores was 2-1 in favour of the host Mahala Football Academy and all thanks to Okyere Ransford and Elijah Antwi.

Both scorers were substitutes who propelled our outfit to yet another win of the season to mark it two wins in two matches.

Speaking after the encounter, Gaffer Emmanuel Nkrumah admitted his players had a difficult start to the clash but needed to effect good changes if they needed a win.

“The entire team did wonderful but I think we had a slow start, from the beginning and it might be as a result of yesterday’s training” That couldn’t help us play our normal game especially in the first half”

On his magical substitutions

“I spoke to my players after the first half to understand that, it’s a game and we can do better in the second department but one or two players were not playing to instructions, I decided to effect a change”

“And being advantageous the first substitute scored the opener with Elijah also getting us the winner”

“In all, I must say it is a good game and positive one for us going forward”

Mahala Football Academy next fixture is against River Plate next week.
