Mahala FA’s Sadat Desmond Shines with Ghana U19 in FC Basel Tour!

Kumasi, Ashanti – Mahala Football Academy proudly announces that its talented player, Sadat Desmond, who recently gained a call-up to the Ghana Under 19 National Team, has now joined the squad as they embark on a crucial preparatory tour in Switzerland. This significant opportunity sees Sadat actively participating in high-profile friendly matches against the prestigious FC Basel youth teams, as the Ghana U19 squad fine-tunes its readiness.

This tour is part of a strategic collaboration between the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and FC Basel 1893, specifically focusing on youth development and providing essential international exposure as part of the team’s ongoing preparation.

Sadat has already featured in two key friendly matches during this preparation phase:

Ghana U19 vs. FC Basel U21 (July 23, 2025): The Black Satellites faced a challenging opening match against FC Basel’s formidable Under 21 side. The game concluded with a 1-3 victory for FC Basel U21, a valuable learning experience that tested the resilience and tactical awareness of our young players.

Ghana U19 vs. FC Basel U19 (July 25, 2025): In a spirited performance that demonstrated their progress, Ghana U19 secured a 2-1 win! This impressive result showcased the team’s ability to adapt and overcome, with a winning goal reportedly scored by Shadrack Kofi Fosu, further highlighting the positive outcomes of their preparation.

This experience is invaluable for Sadat and the entire Ghana U19 squad as they gain crucial international exposure and continue to develop their game on the global stage, all in preparation for future assignments.
