BATTLE for Division One League ticket starts Friday against Benab FC

Mahala Football Academy will begin our guest for Division One League slot on Friday, April 28 2023 with 2023 Ashanti Region Division Two Promotional tournament game against Benab FC.

Having sailed through from Zone four as second best placed team, we’ve set sight on seeking promotion to the country’s second-tier league next season campaign. It’s a battle of the titans at this stage as it’s expected to be a tough tournament.

Nevertheless, the Academy lads are poised to defile all odds and make a good account of themselves and likewise make another HISTORIC moment counts. Mahala Football Academy, for the first time trading in the Ashanti Regional Division Two League made all efforts count to book qualification to the Promotional tournament as it was done last season in the third-tier league.

Coach Emmanuel Nkrumah’s side, booked themselves a ticket to the second-tier after spending a season in the third-tier.

We come up against last season’s promotional tournament finalist, Benab FC in the first game of the tournament on Friday, April 28 2023. Both teams have never faced each other in any game and will be locking horns for the first ever.

Benab FC had a good run prior to securing ticket to the promotional tournament, going 12 matches unbeaten throughout the campaign and amassing more than 40 points to finish top of Zone 5. Despite, their potency at goal Mahala Football Academy is expected to match them brilliantly in defence having also shown good numbers with defensive structure and cleansheets.

Head Coach Emmanuel Nkrumah is optimistic of good performance against Benab FC and does not get perturbed with the record their opponent holds, having played in the finals of the aforementioned tournament and losing ticket to Asekem FC.

Despite, Mahala Football Academy considered an underdog going into this game, they have players such as; Sheriff, Awudu Mohammed, Osman Salifu, Kelvin Asenso, Robben Addai, Osei Ameyaw Anthony, Kofi Agyemang, Justice Asamoah and Emmanuel Attah Frimpong to inspire Mahala Football Academy to exhibit some high level of performance and pick a positive result from the game.

The experience of the technical team led by Emmanuel Nkrumah will be counted on this stage as we seek to make history.

The encounter will kick-off Friday morning at exactly 8:00 am at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
