The budding and enterprising Ghanaian goalkeeper, Derrick Gyamfi won Mahala Football Academy a point in an away game against Sampdoria FC in the ongoing 2023-24 Ashanti Regional Division Two League.
Gyamfi made the difference to deny Sampdoria from scoring atleast two goals following his heroic performance in the second department of the game.
Just 16, he is enjoying his second spell with Mahala Football Academy as he’s effort last season inspired the Academy lads to the finals of the Middle League but lost to PAC Academy.
Derrick Gyamfi made four crucial safes to stop Sampdoria FC from walking over his outfit Mahala Football Academy. He made three blank safes in the last 20 minutes to ensure his side not suffer defeat.
His good reflexes could not be overlooked by the match officials, but to adjudged him the Most Valuable Player Award of the game.
His performance has secured Mahala Football Academy a second draw in a row but hope to do better in the remaining fixtures.
He’s already made five league appearance with 540 minutes played.
