A lone goal from Addai Ruben in the first half helped Mahala Football Academy to continue winning ways with a deserving 1-0 win over S.K Fresh FC to seal an unbeaten mark in the second round of the 2022-23 Ashanti Regional Division Two League, Group four.
Mahala Football Academy three consecutive wins came to realisation on Sunday morning at the Wesco Park, following a win over S.K Fresh FC. The triumph meant the Academy lads stayed on purpose with the quest to secure middle league slot.
We completed a double over S.K Fresh FC as a result of Sunday’s victory. In the first round, Awudu Mohammed scored the only goal of the game to hand us all points and follow teammate Addai Ruben writes his name in our record book of netting the much-needed goal.
Ruben’s 25th minute strike proved to be the match winner. He netted his debut goal in his third start of the season.
Coach Emmanuel Nkrumah has mastered a third successive wins from the games he’s played in the second round – beating Sporting Time 4-0, Afigya Barcelona 2-1 now S.K Fresh FC on match day 10, 12 and 13 respectively with game at hand.
All wins came within the month of March.
On the goal scorers’ chart Justice Asamoah three goals in three matches in the second round has increased his goal tally to lead the goal King Chart with 5 goals from the 9 games played. He scored brace against Sporting Time and one against Afigya Barcelona.
Asamoah scored two in six out of the 8 matches played in the first round.
Kofi Agyemang and Isaac Asumadu sit behind him with three goals each.
