After amassing a win over Afigya Barcelona last weekend and having a five-day break, Mahala Football Academy are back in action on Sunday morning at 9pm local time. We look to taking over the second position in the 2022-23 Ashanti Regional Division Two League Group 4 having fallen shot of 7 points-behind PAC Academy who sit summit with 26 points and Longford FC second with 3 points better off Mahala Football Academy, 22-points.
But Mahala Football Academy has a game at hand having played less number of games (11).
The match day 13 encounter will be no test for manager Emmanuel Nkrumah and his charges. Mahala Football Academy have won two out of two since the commencement of the second round of the 2022-23 Ashanti Regional Division Two League campaign.
They may have scored more than two goals in both games, scoring 4-0 against Sporting Time and 2-1 against Afigya Barcelona but first leg encounter with S.K Fresh FC proved to be a tough one for the Academy lads. Clash ended 1-0 with Awudu Mohammed scoring the only goal of the game from 12-yards.
And like the meeting earlier, this has to be another win to catch up with PAC Academy who seems running away in the group.
Awudu Mohammed returns
The central midfielder who missed our game against Sporting Time due to suspension as a result of accumulated cards will be available this weekend’s. He was in the match day squad for Afigya Barcelona game but was an unused substitute.
Awudu returns to boost the squad as they aim to gather more points since middle league slot is at stake. But the team will also be without key defender Prince Osei for this match.
The center-back has picked up an injury and is yet to bounce back.
Mahala Football Academy currently are 3rd on the log with 19 points and a win on Saturday will mean we takeover the second position with head-to-head difference of goals.
