On Monday, August 14 2023 the Ghana Football Association (GFA) held the draw for the Division One League Play-Off at its Secretariat exactly 5pm.

The draw was held amongst three-teams to determine who replaces WAFA SC in the upcoming 2023-24 Division One League. It became necessary, after WAFA took the decision to withdraw from the Division One League Zone 2 to focus on youth development in the Volta Region.

The Football Association therefore decided to hold a three-team competition between the second placed teams in the three regions that make up Zone Two, thus Central Region, Ashanti Region and Western Region.

Fast-rising lower-tier club Mahala FC who placed second in the Ashanti Regional Division Two League after losing 2-0 to PAC Academy will battle with Team Move FC and Young Red Bull Academy who placed second in the Western and Central Regions respectively.

Teams were group in alphabet A,B & C in accordance with the fixtures.

Mahala Football Academy getting drawn as B, will take on Team Move FC in the playoff opener on Sunday at exactly 10:00 AM before facing Young Red Bull FC on Tuesday, August 22.

The playoff is scheduled for Sunday, August 20 to Sunday, August 27 2023 at the Cape Coast Stadium.
