Gaffer Eric Owusu Ansah reveals middle league qualification as target for 2023-24 season

Head coach of the first team, Eric Owusu Ansah has set sight on seeing Mahala Football Academy to the middle league Promotional tournament of the 2023-24 Ashanti Regional Division Two League.

Mahala Football Academy have not enjoyed what one could say, good campaign in the first round of season but seems picking up gradually considering their last three performances before end of Round. The Academy lads managed to avoid a defeat in their last matches by drawing 1-1 to Natcosta FC, goalless draw with Sampdoria before a deserving 3-0 triumph over Sporting Time.

The Ash-Town based outfit are last season’s middle league finalist following a splendid campaign of finishing as best runner up from the zonal phases.

Nonetheless, a 2-0 first half goals denied them qualification to the Division One League, asuch paving way for PAC Academy.

Currently, Mahala Football Academy sit 4th in Zone Three league standings with 11 points having recorded three wins and two draws in 7 matches. Sitting behind S.C Laurentian with just four points, head coach Eric Owusu Ansah insist target for the season is still on course.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Ansah said the main plan is to secure qualification to the middle league.

“That is our main aim to qualify”

“Our focus is qualifying to the middle league once again. And we’re hopeful of getting a ticket to the big moment and the supporters should look forward to that”

“Meanwhile, we would need their massive support to do this”, he concluded.

The league is on a week break and will resume in the third week of January, 2024.
