The Academy lads despite a difficult start to the 2023-24 Ashanti Regional Division Two League, are still in contention for middle league qualification.
Mahala Football Academy have honoured all seven (7) league games of Zone Three which has eight (8) teams including Mahala Football Academy. They commenced the season with a home game against GINAK FC, picking a narrow 1-0 victory before a heavy 4-0 defeat to Kharis FC in their second league match.
The Ash-Town based outfit who are last season’s middle league finalist, failed to record two straight wins as they either lose their next game or draw.
Week three of the league, Mahala Football Academy humbled Sasaamo Panin 2-1 yet went ahead to succumb to a 1-0 lost to S.C Laurentian. However, managed to pick up the piece to fight back at Natcosta FC but that was coming from a goal down to draw 1-1.
Again, proceeded to draw goalless with Sampdoria FC in week 6 fixture, marking a two consecutive draws.
They trashed Sporting Time heavily 3-0, to end the first round with brilliant result. Nonetheless, that is their highest number of goals in a single game following Owusu Ansah Richard’s brace and Yusif Ahmed.
In all, Mahala Football Academy have accumulated 11 points from a possible 21, having won thrice, drawn twice and lost two also.
They’ve scored 7 goals and conceded 7 as well.
Currently, Mahala Football Academy sit 4th on the standings with 11 points just 4 points adrift leaders S.C Laurentian.
