The gaffer Eric Owusu Ansah has expressed his disappointment in his attackers despite a 3-0 triumph over Sporting Time on Sunday.
Mahala Football Academy recorded a first half three goals to silence Sporting Time in week 7 fixture of the 2023-24 Ashanti Regional Division Two League. Brace from Yusif Ahmed and Owusu Ansah Richmond propelled them to an enviable victory to end the first round of the campaign.
Despite, enigmatic performance in the second half and creating descent chances Mahala Football Academy failed to increase their tally with Kelvin Danso and Elija Opoku all missing glorious opportunities.
Speaking to mahafootballacademy.org Head coach Danso said;
“Am not satisfied with the performance of my players, to score three goals in the first half of a game definitely you need to be better. Atleast, we should have scored 5 or 6 goals but in the second half, our opponent rearranged themselves and came back strong”
“We created several chances but failed to convert them. But all the same, the win is good”
However, he expressed disappointment in his attackers for squandering several chances; “Very disappointed because all the chances were well rehearsed opportunities that we worked on during training.
“They should have burried them but it’s all part of football, we will return to the board and correct what we ought to correct”.
Mahala Football Academy following the win has now accumulated 11 points from 7 matches, picking three wins with two draws and suffering two defeats.
