The team is on course to secure middle league qualification, says gaffer Emmanuel Nkrumah

The Gaffer Emmanuel Nkrumah spoke to Mahalafootballacademy.org after huge win over PAC Academy on Sunday. The team has set sight on booking qualification for middle league this season despite their maiden campaign in the Ashanti Regional Division Two League.

On Sunday, the Academy lads gave a scintillating performance to halt Group 4 league leaders PAC Academy’s winning streak in a five goal thriller, 2-3 triumph for Mahala Football Academy who played as guest at the Wesco Park.

After suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Longford FC last weekend, Mahala Football Academy needed to return to winning ways to ensure their target for the season could be realistic. And this time around, amassed a sweet victory in a very tough encounter.

Mahala Football Academy through Emmanuel Attah opened the scoring account but suffered a blow by conceding twice before break. Nevertheless, Osman salifu and Awudu Mohammed propelled us to an emphatic win to draw us closer to our mission.

Speaking after the crunchy encounter, Emmanuel Nkrumah admitted it was a difficult game but he believed in his players after going down 2-1.

“We started brilliantly before falling off, I won’t say it was an easy game but a beautiful one. We scored first before their reply but I believed in my players and knew we will shine” Before, the game we had it on our minds we can not afford to lose else we can not catch up”.

When asked about target for middle league, he revealed that; “We have close to five matches to play and I believe we can do it”

“The team is on course, no doubt. After losing to Longford FC we had to show some resilience and I have to say we are on course to accomplish our mission”.

Mahala Football Academy following Sunday’s victory, have 25 points to show in 15 league games with four points adrift PAC Academy who sits top of log.
